The budgieon your desktop.
A painted budgerigar for your Mac or Windows desktop, one of six Deskiee birds.
What it looks like
A budgerigar in the green of wild birds: a yellow face, a green body and a long, narrow tail.
What it does all day
The budgie walks along the bottom of your screen, flies up to the top edge of a window you have open and stands there. Move the window and it rides along; close it and it drops off and finds somewhere else. Drag it to carry it, or tap a rhythm and it sings it back.
Its own moves
- It bobs its head as it sings, the way budgies chatter.
- When it is dizzy its bob turns into a loop.
With chirps switched on (they start off), it has its own call and song, modelled on the real bird's.
The real bird
Budgerigars are small parrots from Australia, where wild ones are green and yellow and live in flocks.
They are one of the most widely kept pet birds in the world.
