A bird that liveson your desktop.

Deskiee is a small app for Mac and Windows. It puts a painted bird on your screen that goes about its day while you work.

Your windows

It stands on your windows

The bird walks along the bottom of your screen, then flies up and lands on the top edge of a window you have open. Move that window and the bird rides along with it. Close it and the bird drops off and finds somewhere else to land.

It never covers what you are doing: it sits on the edge, not inside the window, and clicks pass straight through it to whatever is underneath.

Pick it up

Pick it up and put it somewhere

Press on the bird and drag to carry it. Let go over a window and it lands on top; let go anywhere else and it flutters down to the floor. You can try it on the home page right now.

Teach it a song

Tap a rhythm, it sings it back

Tap a beat, three taps or more in any rhythm, and the bird listens, then sings your rhythm back to you. Its chirps stay off until you switch them on.

When you need quiet

Put it away for a while

From the menu bar on Mac or the system tray on Windows you can hide the bird and bring it back, open the settings, or quit. It does not need an account and it works without the internet.

More about what the app does and does not read is on the privacy page.
